For their Austin location, they moved into the former location of the Varsity Theatre, a movie theater which had been open since the 30s. Eventually, the corporate entity of Tower declared bankruptcy and the Austin store closed down in 2004. This original Tower Records Austin shirt, lightly worn and faded, is from the now defunct record
